How it works
For weekly and biweekly payroll, an entered lag can derive period end and a 7- or 14-day interval. Monthly and semi-monthly payroll need a known start date. Potential workdays count Monday–Friday without subtracting holidays.
Example
A Monday-through-Sunday period has seven calendar days and five potential weekdays.
Questions about this tool
Can a payday alone identify the pay period?
No. Weekly and biweekly estimates use your entered lag. Monthly and semi-monthly schedules require a known period start because employer payroll calendars differ.
Are these results independently verified?
No. Results and documents use the information you enter. Review the inputs and keep the underlying records.
